The Guide
Hair Care & Longevity
Raw — The Archetype
Raw hair is collected from a single donor and left entirely as it grew. It has not been steamed, reordered or corrected. Expect natural variation in pattern and a soft lustre rather than a high shine, and expect it to return to its own texture after every wash.
Virgin — The Contour
Virgin hair is also single donor and chemically unprocessed, but steam-aligned into a consistent pattern using heat and water alone. It behaves more predictably across bundles and holds a set curl for longer.
The Five Rituals.
Inspect your bundles before any cutting, colouring or installation. Check length against the tag, confirm the weft is intact, and keep the ties and seal in place until you are satisfied.
Raw hair naturally varies in pattern and density between bundles. This is a marker of single-donor sourcing, not a defect. Any genuine concern must be raised before the hair is altered or worn.
Detangle from the ends upward with fingers or a wide-tooth comb before wetting. Cleanse in tepid water with a sulphate-free shampoo, working downward from root to tip rather than bunching the hair.
Condition mid-length to end only, rinse thoroughly, and apply a light leave-in while damp. Air-dry where possible; where heat is used, use a heat protectant and the lowest effective temperature.
Never sleep on loose, damp hair. Braid, twist or wrap before bed and cover with a silk or satin bonnet or scarf. Cotton draws moisture out of the hair and is the most common cause of premature dryness and matting at the nape.
Cévine hair is supplied unprocessed. Any bleaching, colouring, perming or chemical straightening is undertaken entirely at your own risk and voids all guarantees relating to the hair's condition and longevity. We strongly recommend that any lifting or colouring is carried out by a qualified colourist experienced with raw human hair.
Wash, condition and fully dry the hair before storing. Detangle, braid loosely, and keep it flat or hanging in a breathable bag away from direct sunlight and damp. Never store hair wet, folded tightly, or sealed in plastic.
